After his father’s death a week ago, relatives bought 13-year-old Hussain Bepari a battery-powered rickshaw. The mother-son family continued to run on it. But Hussain did not return after leaving home with the rickshaw on Thursday afternoon.
This Friday morning, Hussain’s body was found next to the boundary wall of a women’s madrasa in Bhati Lakshmipur of Faridpur city. The rickshaw was not found there. Local residents informed the police after seeing the body lying there. Later, a group of police from Kotwali police station and a crime scene team from CID recovered the body and sent it to the morgue for autopsy.
Hussain’s house is in the city’s Char Tepakhola Beparipara mohalla. His father’s name is the deceased Khoka Bepari and his mother’s name is Shefali Begum (48). Khoka Bepari died a week ago on December 27.
Hussain’s cousin Obaidur Rahman (35) said that Hossain was the youngest of three sisters and one brother. The sisters are married. After his father died a week ago, his relatives bought Hussain a new rickshaw as a source of income. The mother and son’s family used to live on whatever they earned by driving it. Everyone is worried about how his mother Shefali Begum will survive after the death of her only earning son.
According to family sources, Hussain left home on Thursday afternoon with the rickshaw. After that, he did not return home all night. When he did not return home at night, the area was also miked. Later in the morning, family members received news of his body lying there. Police initially believe that he was killed by suffocating him with a rope wrapped around his neck. Locals and relatives are speechless over the murder of a teenager for robbing a rickshaw.
Faridpur Kotwali Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Sanatan Kumar Mandal said that the body was recovered around 9 am after receiving information from the locals. The body was later sent to the Faridpur Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. Along with the police, the CID’s crime scene team is also working to unravel the mystery of the murder. He hopes that it will be possible to identify and arrest those involved soon.
