Police have arrested two teenagers on charges of stealing 45 bhari gold from the house of folk singer Babli Sarkar in the capital’s Adabor. The Adabor police arrested them on Friday. 32 bhari gold and 72,000 taka were recovered from them.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Adabor Police Station SM Zakaria told Prothom Alo that 45 bhari gold was stolen from Babli Sarkar’s house on the night of December 30. A case has been registered in this incident. Police conducted a drive and arrested two teenagers yesterday. One of them is a relative of Babli Sarkar.
Two robbers arrested Meanwhile, police arrested two people yesterday on charges of robbery from the capital’s Darus Salam area. They are Siddiqur Rahman (35) and Monir Hossain (40).
The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Media and Public Relations Department said that a switchgear knife and a knife with a plastic handle were recovered from the two accused arrested on Friday afternoon on charges of involvement in the robbery. The accused are active members of an organized robbery gang. They robbed from Gabtoli to the Beribandh Barabazar Road area.
